It's been quite an eye opening year! The past year brought many challenges but it also brought many successes, all thanks to your generosity. 

Seva’s 2021 AGM will be held in-person in Vancouver and virtually through Zoom.

Please note: Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM, however; to be considered a member of Seva Canada Society and eligible to vote at our AGM, a person must have donated a minimum of $20 between November 7, 2020 and November 1, 2021. Any member may be nominated to the Board of Directors by submitting a letter signed by a nominator and a seconder; both of whom must be members in good standing of Seva Canada Society. Letters can be sent to the Seva Canada office to the attention of the Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee.

Thulasiraj Ravilla, (Thulsi) Director of Operations, Aravind Eye Care System and Executive Director of the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology

Thulasiraj joined the Aravind Eye Care System in 1981 to lead the administration as a member of its start-up management team. Aravind Eye Care System currently manages over 4.5 million outpatient visits and performs over half a million surgeries and other eye care interventions annually. Over half of these patients receive care either free or at steeply subsidized rates, through Aravind’s innovative financing model. In 1992, Thulsi co-founded the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology which has mentored over 360 hospitals in India and provided management training to over 2,600 eye  care professionals from across the globe. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Madras Christian College and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management.
