What Is a Charitable Bequest? Simply stated, charitable bequests are gifts made through your Will or living trust to charity. A bequest can be a wonderful opportunity to support the work of Seva Canada Society. It is a living legacy of your compassion and concern for the future of people suffering from low vision and blindness and the overall welfare of the people in the countries where we work.
Restoring someone's sight is one of the most cost-effective and profound ways of alleviating poverty and improving the well-being of families and communities.
Why consider making a bequest to Seva Canada Society? Bequests make a real difference for individuals, communities and countries. By leaving a gift to Seva Canada Society, you are helping us train local eye care specialists, create vision centres and eye hospitals, provide services such as cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment and prescription glasses to children, women and men who otherwise would suffer from vision loss that is treatable or preventable. By naming Seva Canada Society in your Will, you will be helping to continue our work far into the future. Many Seva Canada supporters want to do more, but are not in a position to do so right now. A legacy gift in your Will means that you have all of your assets available for any needs that might arise and may also allow you and your Estate significant tax advantages.
You can leave a legacy by including Seva Canada Society in your Will or trust, making gifts of cash, securities, real estate or other assets. You may aso name Seva as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or donate all or a portion of your RRSPs.
It is important that you let us know that you are either considering this option or that you have actually included us in your plans so that we can understand your wishes and thank you for your generosity.
