A conversation on Development with Dignity between Thulasiraj Ravilla, (Thulsi) Director of Operations, Aravind Eye Care System and Executive Director of the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology and Penny Lyons, Executive Director of Seva Canada. To achieve development with dignity, Seva Canada began by working and learning from local partners what their population needed and what was a culturally appropriate means of meeting those eye care needs. One such local partner is Aravind Eye Care System in India, Seva's oldest partner and a world leader in high-quality, high-volume, sustainable, community-oriented eye care. Seva Canada’s continued aim is to support development that recognizes and respects our partners, and the people we serve, as true partners in the design, implementation, and evaluation of projects that impact their lives and communities through the power of sight.
