Eyes on Tibet: Charity Fundraising Event for Seva in Toronto

Partager cet article :

Our thanks to Erika Tsang of Toronto who is organizing “Eyes On Tibet”, a fundraising event for Seva’s eye care programs in Tibet.

“Eyes on Tibet” is a  silent auction event featuring the works of dozens of artists. Artists will be provided with a pair of generously donated eye-glasses and asked to create a piece which will be entirely up to their own creativity – they may be functional, sculptural or something totally unexpected. Each piece will then be auctioned of at the event with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Seva Canada’s Tibet Sight Program.

Where
The event will occur in the Toronto area in 2011 (exact date and location to be announced soon). We are looking to feature live entertainment by local musicians and performers, with Tibetan  food and beverages provided by local restaurants.

Get involved now! The organizers are looking for:

Artists
Contribute an eye-glasses based art piece for auction. You will be recognized in our promotional materials and website, and your bio will be featured at the event. Find out how you can receive a tax-receipt for a donation-in-kind.

Location
We need a space in the Toronto area to host this fantastic event. Ideas for location might include: galleries, theaters, cafes, restaurants, lounges, golf or country clubs, hotel ballrooms, museums, etc. Without a venue we can’t hold the event, so please help us out!

Food and Beverage
We’re looking for food and beverage to be donated by local restaurants, preferably Tibetan food. Promote your business though charitable partnership. Ask about tax receipts.

Graphic and Web Design
Get your name noticed by helping us out with out promotional material and help us communicate our cause.

Media
Promote the cause and the event through TV, radio, newspaper, facebook, Twitter, your blogs, etc. Help get the word out!

Volunteer
Your time and skills are an invaluable contribution. Help us out before, during, or after the event. What are you good at? Share it and make a difference!

Musicians and Entertainers
We need a dynamic host and outstanding entertainment to make this an event to remember.

Donations-in-kind
Retailers, restaurants, and professionals, get recognized in your community by donating products or gift certificates as door and raffle prizes. Ask about tax receipts.

Cash Donations
Want to help but are not sure if you fit any of the above categories? Donate directly to Seva Canada via Erika Tsang’s Personal Giving Page on the Seva Canada site: http://bit.ly/eyes-on-tibet-giving-page
